Bhubaneswar: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that Odisha is witnessing a rapid expansion of railway infrastructure, with projects worth over ₹90,000 crore currently under construction.
The minister noted that this investment marks one of the largest efforts to strengthen rail connectivity, network capacity, and overall infrastructure in the state, benefiting both passenger travel and freight movement.
He also reviewed the redevelopment work at Bhubaneswar Railway Station and directed officials to ensure timely completion. The station is being upgraded with modern amenities to enhance passenger experience.
Under Indian Railways, Odisha has received a record budget allocation of ₹10,928 crore this year, accelerating the pace of ongoing projects.
